I purchased my 1966 Catalina 6 passenger station wagon from the original owner in 1997. The car had been sitting for a few months the owner said, because it was now too big for him to drive. I was a little hesitant at first about buying the wagon, well because it was a station wagon. Let's be honest , which would you rather be seen in at the local cruises, a hot GTO or Firebird, or some family hauling, four wheel land barge. Well, after about two minutes of brainless pondering, my decision was made, strike a deal with the owner and take the car home.

The car had 49,000 miles on it and still had the original paint albeit checked and faded. It has a 389 2 barrel, power steering and brakes. I started the restoration in the winter of 1999 and by the spring the car was towed to the Pontiac dealership, where I manage the body shop, and repainted the car the original maroon metallic. The interior is original and the engine bay needed only minor detailing.

Oh, and by the way, it's a lot of fun getting the thumbs up sign, and smiles while attending Saturday night criuses in the family hauling, four wheeled land barge.
