When I graduated H.S in 1966 my dad bought me a beautiful 1967 GTO
Linben green sports coupe with a black vinyl top, 360 H.P ram air
w/3:90's. With a few modifications and a set of red line Prowler
tires it turned mid 13 second times. Awesome on the street in the
mid 1960's.
I went to Viet Nam in 1968 as an Army advisor and when
I returned stateside I went back to collage and a quiet life.
Now I'm in my 50's and muscle cars are back in style. I found this 1967
360 h.p ram air GTO in an estate sale from Texas. Its first owner
got for graduation and he also headed for S.V.N. Sadly he didn't
make it home to the States. His Dad had it in storage until he
passed on about two years ago and I purchased the car from the
estate.
When I got the car it had 20,090 miles on the odometer.
I replaced the original red line tires (on Hurst rims) with red
line radials on Rally 1 rims I purchased from PY. New wiper blades,
a R-59 battery
and a few other items from PY but otherwise all original. It's
comforting to know that if something breaks or fails I have PY to
turn to. Every dealing I've had with PY has been a real pleasure.
Nice to know that there is a business based on mutual love of fine
automobiles.
I'm sure if I had not survived Viet Nam my GTO would have been in
storage also. So the wheel turns full circle.
