This is my 1968 Pro Street Firebird. I bought the car in 2000 as a project. It was already tubbed and was in need of a motor and trans. I had been drag racing my 70 Lemans (Lemanster) for over 15 years and was looking for a change. I pulled the motor and trans from the Lemans and put it in the Bird and drove it for a year but it soon got to be very expensive filling it with Cam 2 for the 13.9:1 motor. I decided to build a pump gas motor to put in it. The best way to make a pump gas motor go fast is with a blower so I started looking for some parts to put together a blown toy. In the process of taking the motor out, I decided to make a few other changes to the car. It had a couple of bubbles starting to pop in the paint job so I asked my friends to help me touch it up...... or so I thought. It ended up being a total body and paint makeover. We repaired all the bad spots and cut the hood for the blower and painted the car black with 2 sets of flames. I also redid some of the interior and a few other little mods. Since the car was in pretty good shape when I bought it, it didn't require a lot of parts but I did buy the weatherstriping, windshield chrome, emblems and a few other items from Performance Years to make it look just right. I originally wanted to put a Pontiac 455 back in the car w/ a blower but time, money and problems finding some parts to build one didn't allow my plans to materialize. I ended up putting a 454 BBC in the car w/ a 671 blower and dual 750's on top. I also installed a 400 HP nitrous setup on top for even more grins. The car looks and runs great now but I am still in the process of gathering parts to turn it back into a TRUE PONTIAC and have a 455 under the hood with the same blower setup on it. I just want to thank Performance Years for the little touches that helped me win First place in class at the Baltimore World of Wheels.

Hope to see you guys at shows this year, Bill Bolin
